The Veterans’ Manufacturing Academy (VMA) is a non-profit that will be accredited to grant certificates in Advanced Machining techniques. The Academy will educate students in state-of-the-art technologies and provide hands-on experience, preparing them for transition into the rapidly growing manufacturing industry.
In the United States, a significant skill gap exists in industries employing advanced and additive manufacturing technologies; over the next decade, two million jobs will go unfilled due to this skill gap. VMA will help bridge the gap by training recently retired or separated military veterans seeking the skills needed for transition to the civilian workforce.
The 250,000 veterans leaving the military annually have many of the skills needed for success in the civilian world, but often lack the training specific to modern manufacturing methods. Veterans will graduate from VMA with industry-recognized credentials, and will be prepared to seize career opportunities in many industries.
